This Month @ GGH

Happy Birthday GuitarGearHeads! Gary and I are proud to announce that it has been a year since we opened the doors of GGH. It is amazing to think of all the changes and iterations this site has gone through since we started.

We now have thousands of unique visitors each month from all over the world converging on this site to get help for "Gear Acquisition Syndrome"! As you can see from our new reads, things are only accelerating - just a week or so ago I announced that we had crossed 30,000 reads on our reviews, and just this week its now almost 35,000.

Gary and I are catching up on our reviews and you should see something new each week, and a new lesson AT LEAST once a month.

We will continue to give away free strings - however, we have a new contest coming this month. We've been busy lining up prizes and judges. Keep checking back since we'll be making that announcement soon.

Gary's Word

Well, it has been a year since Dan and I rolled out the first version of Guitar Gear Heads. Since then the growth of the site both in content and popularity has been beyond our highest expectations. We have reviewed some great gear from companies like ProCo Sound , LR-Baggs, PreSonus, BBE Sound, Furman Sound, Samick Guitars and many others. We have also secured gear from Breelove Guitars, G&L Guitars, Sabine, Atomic Amps, and many other great companies for featured reviews that will be coming soon. The fact of the matter is that we have gear coming in so fast for reviews that we had to redesign the featured review section to hold four reviews at a time on the main page.
We have come to the point to where we are able to do projects with multiple pieces of gear rather than just simple gear reviews. In the coming months watch for the “Rack Build Project” and the “Guitar Build Project”. We will be featuring different gear in reviews on the main page and then adding them to other gear to create lessons in setup, configuration, and "hot-rodding" in general!.
Dan and I would especially like to thank all of you who have become members and you who participate in the site. You are the lifeblood of Guitar Gear Heads. You are the reason that Dan and I do what we do. We will continue to work hard to bring you the best guitar site on the 'net.
Gary Allen

Gator Cases GRR-10PL-US
"Seeing an opportunity to truly advance rack technology, Gator Cases introduced the GRR-10PL-US rack system. They took a simple rack case and made it extremely functional through creativity and innovation. After we take a look at this rack case, I think you will understand why this rack was chosen over all others for the Guitar Gear Heads rack build project!" Read More...

Carolina - Greg Bennett Designed Acoustic Guitar by SMC®
"It is a great guitar at a great price point. I would not hesitate bringing this guitar on stage, into a recording studio, or even to the beach. I would say that this guitar would be the perfect starter guitar or even a solid backup for a gigging musician. However, it really is good enough to be used on its own in a professional situation." Featured Lesson:
Discover Your Discomfort!
by Jamie Andreas
10 Feb 2005
"Have you ever had trouble playing something on the guitar? Have you ever seen or heard someone play something, tried to do it yourself, maybe practiced it for a long time, and ended up with only frustration and bad feelings about yourself as a player? Be honest now. I’ve been playing for 30 years, and giving guitar lessons for 27 years, and I have never met a player, including myself, who could honestly answer no to that question."
