MELVILLE, NY, October 1, 2009 — VOX Amplification announces version 1.5 of its JamVOX hardware/software product. The new version includes several user-requested enhancements, extended capabilities and new features. Existing JamVOX users can access the new version via the auto-update function of the JamVOX software, or as a download from http://www.jamvox-online.com/downloads/.

A major feature of JamVOX is the GXT (Guitar XTracktion™) function, which removes the guitar from any audio recording so users can play along, or isolates the guitar part so users can loop it or slow it down when learning difficult passages. Version 1.5 features an enhanced algorithm for the GXT function and a new Easy Edit panel. The Easy Edit controls make it simple to quickly remove (or isolate) the specific target sound. The Tempo and Pitch Change functions have also been greatly enhanced via a new high-definition algorithm “zplane élastique efficient V2.” It allows users to clearly catch individual notes with nuances during very fast passages, even when played at half tempo.

JamVOX v1.5 also adds three High-Definition Reverbs to the FX section, with parameters that have been optimized for electric guitar:

- HD-HALL: Simulates the early reflections and reverberation of a concert hall with a high degree of accuracy. This setting provides the feeling of being on stage in a concert hall.

- HD-CHAMBER: Simulates the sonic characteristics of a large chamber. Changing the parameter settings produces natural-sounding spatial simulations, as well as wacky-sounding reverbs.

- HD-ROOM: Provides a high-quality simulation of room reverb. This more confined, intimate reverb simulation can be refined by editing the parameters.

JamVOX version 1.5 is now positioned with a new, more affordable price point. Please visit a VOX retailer for more pricing information, or locate one in the support section at www.voxamps.com.

ABOUT JamVOX:
In addition to providing drag-and-drop access to virtually any combination of sought-after amp and effects models, JamVOX allows users to import their MP3/iTunes library or their favorite CD tracks. Using new proprietary GXT Guitar XTracktion technology by Korg, guitarists can extract or “solo” guitar parts or reduce and essentially “mute” guitar parts from any prerecorded track. Using JamVOX’s recording capabilities, guitarists can then record their own guitar performances over their favorite tracks. JamVOX’s GXT technology can also extract or reduce vocal and bass tracks, making the software/hardware product an incredibly powerful practice, jamming and recording tool. Guitars and microphones can be directly plugged into the USB-powered hardware component for a complete practice solution. WAV/AIFF recording capabilities enable the player to overdub vocals as well as guitar.

The Mac®- and PC-compatible JamVOX delivers precise models of 19 of the most sought-after guitar amplifiers, 12 popular cabinets, 54 vintage and modern effects and a choice of guitar pickup simulations. Each of the unit’s over 100 preset programs features one amp/cabinet combination and a chain of up to five effects, plus noise reduction. User programs may be saved, and shared online.

High-quality time stretching and pitch shifting enable guitarists or vocalists to slow down or speed up tempos and adjust pitch. Loop record and playback captures a phrase and repeats it. A chromatic tuner by Korg has also been included, as well as an array of drum tracks.

The USB-powered amp/speaker hardware interface is equipped with two 3-inch full-range speakers and two bass reflex ports. The front panel includes a ¼" Guitar Input, XLR Microphone Input and Input Level Control, a Line Output Level Control, a ¼" Headphone Output and a Monitor/Headphone Level Control. The back panel provides L/R Line Inputs (2 x ¼"), L/R Line Outputs (2 x ¼"), a Footswitch port (¼"), an Expression Pedal port (¼") and a USB port for connection of the JamVOX guitar/vocal interface to a computer.

The compact 9.45" W x 6.3" D x 4.82" H JamVOX head, featuring a matte-black finish and metal grill with the “VOX” logo emblazoned on it, pays homage to the brand’s timeless style and forward-looking engineering. Plus, it can perform double duty as an audio interface for popular software programs and for listening to music downloads on a computer.
