Digital is really the wave of the future. It is pure and clean compared to tape or analog, but many people find the clean quality of digital to be to sterilized. Digital however is easier to set up once you get the hang of the controls. I am looking to build a studio and I want to go 32 track total. I want to have 16 digital tracks and 16 anolog tracks. The best of both worlds,

Gary Allen

Hey Crash,

Some of the companies that are working with us include PreSonus, Furman Sound, Aphex Systems, BBE, LR-Baggs, Steward MacDonald, and I am working on a few others now.

Here is my question to those of you who might use either of these modes for creating a recording.... Tape maching vs CD type of machine.
Which do you prefer and why?
I am leaning towards the digital but I have read an interesting article on a newsletter from Musicians Friend regarding the tape machine. This has me wondering about that end of the recording world.
Any thoughts?

Ok ok... I confess. I need to change my strings on my Carvin and the 12 string. I'm looking for a day off to do the 12 string.
I am pretty lax about the strings... I shouldn't be because I know how much better the sound is when the strings are fresh.
I shall do this on the weekend.

hey i agree with all of you. what i usually do is right after i change my strings every month, on the new strings i have them on tighter than usual and not in tune for a few days. THEN i tune my strings. it is because i use slinky 9g's and they stretch alot at first but sound VERY good with my LP.

Dan,

That sounds like a plan to me. There's no doubt I could help with passes to anywhere in SoCal...any of the LA airports, LAX, Burbank, Ontario, Orange Co., Long Beach..or San Diego. Just let me know. Send me an email, and I'll give you my phone numbers (if I haven't already done so), along with my home and work emails.

We can definitely work something out. Gary may have to make it as far as Belingham on his own... (if he doesn't want to come all the way to Seattle...or Vancouver). But, yes...we can definitely work something out.

Hey Gary and I are talking about going to the NAMM show in California this year to promote GGH and shake some hands.

I wonder if this would be an opportunity? Wouldn't be Alaska but sure would be a good time to have a GGH "business meeting".

Ideas?

Dan
